hey, all. this idea just occurred to me, and i mainly just want to get second opinions. i'll be able to determine any changes to it all myself, since i already have, so don't worry about that ;)

anyway, a possibility just occurred to me for the revitalized Aztec Empire in my ASB ATL. up til now, i've been going on teh assumption that the adjusted modern Aztec religion, which i've dubbed Teotlism (from teotl, basically the Aztec version of mana, to put it in the simplest terms possible), would be polytheistic since the Aztecs were so traditionally. they still perform sacrifices in the current specs, but a number of different factors contribute to them sacrificing only animals rather than humans.

however, the thought that occurred to me is that, perhaps, the revived Aztec religion could instead focus solely on Quetzalcoatl. it seems cliche, but there's arguably a good reason for this: Quetzalcoatl was the only Aztec god that didn't demand sacrifice, and with influences from Christianity on the Aztecs as a whole that i'm also considering for TTL, maybe it would be more likely for the Aztec religion to become monotheistic. i'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on this.
