How plausible would it be for the conditions on the original sugar plantations on Madeira- where manual work was done by enslaved Africans captured and brought from the African mainland, who were worked to death, with more and more Africans captured and brought to the island to replace them, establishing the Atlantic slave trade and the favored model for sugar cultivation which would soon be transferred to the Caribbean and Brazil and provide the primary incentive for colonization of the Americas- to result in a successful slave revolt, prior to Christopher Columbus' first visit to the island in 1470? And if so, what sort of impact would you expect such a slave rebellion to have- how great an impact would you expect this to have on the course of world history?
