PC:Neanderthals in the New World, Cro-Magnon in the Old?

I was wondering, oddly enough, after reading a joke about how they coexisted, could it have been possible for some of the Neanderthals to have made it to the New World, and continued to thrive/evolve/stagnate etc? Leaving the Cro-Magnon to be the ones to dominate the old world as they did historically?

If it is possible, what sort of world would we see today, should the neanderthals not become extinct in the new world before or after the Europeans discover them (or would the neadnerthals accidentally discover europe or asia?)

EDIT:If this require the intervention of an ASB, then please notify a mod so they can move it.

The main problem is getting them there. H. sapiens isn't properly an ambush predator or an attrition predator, being just competent enough to survive at both. Neanderthals were pretty clearly ambush predators. That implies when they move, they stick to mountainous terrain, or deep forest - they are very poorly equipped to migrate across open plains. If I'm not mistaken, they'll have to cross some pretty open plains to get across the land bridge (handwaving survival of Neanderthals - Denisovas? - in Siberia for the moment).

Would love to see the resulting American ecologies. No new apex attrition predator on the tundra or great plains will likely mean surviving Plains bear, possibly mammoth and others - and Neanderthal-analogs may spread down the West Coast through the Rockies without ever moving into the Southeast...
