PC: Mongol Mercs in Europe?

Idea literally just popped into my head...
Given the massive success of the Mongols when battling..pretty much everywhere..Was it plausible that one of the major European kingdoms of the 13th, 14th or 15th century couldve made an overture to the closest Khanate (Golden Horde perhaps?) to hire one of the elite battalions as a uber-Merc band for a major war?

For instance, maybe a German prince hires one to help one of the sides during the 30 years war, or possibly a Venitian Doge to help during the 3rd or 4th crusade?

Or maybe the Byzantines could use them to help take back Anatolia from the turks?

I think the byzantines did hire mongol mercenaries didn't they?

Nogai Khan led troops against the latin rebels of Thessaly for Michael Palaiologos in 1282, I think?

For a European Christian kingdom hiring Muslim mercenaries doesn't sound as a bright idea.
Like hiring German landsknehtes for a Muslim ruler.

And there was no traditional institution of 'swords for hire' in the "Mongol" steppe similar to that of Medieval Europe.

The closest you can get is Lipka Tatars of OTL.
But I can hardly imagine the circumstances under which the Tartars might have been settled somewhere in France for instance.

This seems only possible before the mass conversion of Turko-Mongol peoples in European proximity to Islam, unless having other groups emerge along the lines of the Lipka Tatars can be justified. Enduring Cumans would be interesting, but they don't satisfy the POD.
