Is a Pacific version of the sieges of Malta and Leningrad possible?
For example, if the Japanese bypassed Luzon and it has been supplied with enough food, or if the Japanese assault on Singapore failed, will such scenarios happen?

you would need the Brits to bolster the defences in Singapore and that was not gonna happen any time soon, they were already at breaking point.

A equivalent was the battle on Guadalcanal. Small scale in terms of ground forces, but largely a stand up fixed battle of attrition. On a larger scale was the entire campaign for New Guinea/Solomons from March to December 1942. When all the air, ground, and naval forces are added up it was a fairly substantial battle of attrition.

Another equivalent was the Battle of Changsha. That was a strong point that the Japanese attempted to take four times from 1940 to 1944. As a strong point, it lasted longer than either Malta or Leningrad.

A Stalingrad-scale battle could have happened in any number of cities on the Japanese home islands, if Truman had not decided on dropping the bomb. Estimated Allied casualties in the planned invasion were well over a million.

What about other side? Rabaul was kind of under the siege with over 100 000 Japanese troops. Held until end of the war in Pacific.
