PC: Gigantic Monowheels as Superwapons/Supertanks

You read it right, folks. I got a Rule of Cool fever for this thread

Is it possible (both strategically and physically) to have gigantic armored grindwheels as military superweapon (singular, maybe, since it would be VERY expensive to make) or supertank?

Would it be useless against terrain of battlefields? Or it's ability to crush its way through enemy lines makes it a valuable asset?
Here's some pics to feast your eyes, and let you know what I mean:

ASB. Seriously, walking is by itself a rather inefficient form of transportation, with the "body" being connected to the ground at only two points, making it highly unstable. A "monowheel" would have only one such point, making it extremely easy to fall down and disable it - even when crossing diffiult terrain, not to mention when it would get hit somewhere at the "top" of the wheel. Besides, how would it even turn?

The only thing i can imagine, is making small "wheel tank" (something like this) with a gyroscope to keep it standing, a camera and RC equipment (making it a tele-tank) and loaded with a small tactical nuke, used as a means of payload delivery when for some reasons artillery or missiles are unavailble. Hypothetically possible, but I see no reason for the above mentioned situation to occur.

Probably not going to get these as the standard armored vehicle in the long run, but you could have a war that used them.

Maybe no WWI means that tanks are developed in starts and fits. Russia hits on this idea again, and they build a lot of them. If another revolution came around, they could be the most common armored vehicle around.

Have the Czar tank developed just before WWI so it's available for combat early in the war like armored cars IOTL? I doubt they would work well but they would see action.

Experimental one in an episode that lost control and had to be stopped by the home guard.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panjandrum

Panjandrum, known also as The Great Panjandrum, was a massive, rocket-propelled, explosive-laden cart designed by the British military during World War II. It was one of a number of highly experimental projects, including Hajile and the Hedgehog, that were developed by the Admiralty's Directorate of Miscellaneous Weapons Development (DMWD) in the final years of the war. The Panjandrum was never used in battle.
