PC: Germany only invades France, in WWI

I was playing a game of Darkest Hour, and when it came time to invade France, I had several options:

--Invade France and Belgium (OTL)
--Invade France, Belgium, and the Netherlands
--Invade France
--Invade France and Switzerland

Because, IIRC, the invasion of Belgium was what brought Britain and eventually the US into the war, I chose to only invade France. So far, the war is coming to a close without involvement from anyone beyond the continent.

So I was wondering:

Is it actually possible that Germany could chose to only invade France? And what are the chances that this would prevent Anglo-American involvement in the war?

Could such a choice increase the chances of Germany winning the war?

Even though the entire German military is only fighting France, they have to cross a fortified border. How does this happen? Germany declared war on Russia first.

IIRC Germany's plan B was not to invade France but instead sit behind their fortified frontier, when the French tried to attack it IOTL they were totally minced by the defences, while devoting their main effort against Russia. The decision to attack France was taken because they believed they could knock France out quickly with the Scheifflen Plan whereas Russia would take longer and the German planners did not want to risk a Napoleonic campaign.

Even if Britain doesn't enter the war I imagine it will adopt a very Pro-French position effectively blockading Germany while supplying France with weapons, it will probably get dragged in at some point.

Britain would find another excuse. Although Grey was foreign secretary, he was essentially alone in wanting to negotiate an end at any cost. Britain might simply invoke the Entente Cordiale and join the war on France's side 'because they are our allies'.

The priority was the prevention of a German hegemony at any cost. IOTL the Belgian treaty served as a useful unquestionable casus belli to initiate that process.
