PC: Eisenhower runs as a 3rd party/independent candidate.

Based off some discussion in this thread.
What is the probability of Dwight D. Eisenhower running as an independent or third party for President of the United States in 1952?

((Extra question would be if he could even win as a third party or independent candidate))

Really, if both parties nominate isolationist candidates, then an independent Ike seems rather likely to me. OTL, he only joined the Republican fray when it seemed Robert A. Taft, a known anti-interventionist, could get the Republican nomination. If the Republicans nominated Robert A. Taft and the Democrats nominated another isolationist (perhaps Burton K. Wheeler, but he might be too old in '48 or '52 (which I can see as the dates for Ike's run)), then Eisenhower could run against them, seeing it as a duty to prevent those characters from entering the White House.

I still believe Ike would win, albeit probably on a much smaller scale than his landslides, perhaps even it going to the House. Ike was incredibly popular at the time, and I could see his celebrity carrying him to the nomination.
