PC: Dust Bowl in Alternate North Americas and its effects

How differently would the Dust Bowl have affected the nations of the following alternate North Americas or combinations thereof? Obviously a lot will depend on the particular circumstances of each scenario, but I don't want to elaborate too much on that for fear of derailing the thread.

• A North America with a CSA (how it successfully secedes can be up to you)
• A North America with a Republic of Texas (either that never joined the USA or which seceded from the CSA)
• A North America with an independent State of Deseret (either that never joined the USA or which somehow seceded from the USA)
• A North America with a Republic of California (either that never joined the USA or which somehow seceded from the USA)

Alberta would still be by far the worst affected area...and would still be ignored by US historians.

The Republic of Texas would definitely complicate the politics of the Dust Bowl. ITTL, Water in Colorado is pumped from the Western side of the Continental Divide to the Eastern, to irrigate farms in Kansas and Nebraska.

I should ask if there is other places on earth who could suffer such an ecological disaster...

Maybe northern China, as we see right now OTL a rise of desertification, sandstorms blowing all the way to *Beijing*...

Some places in Africa? South America like in Brazil? Australian island-continent?

So same as OTL then.

What would happen in place of the OTL "Okie" migration from the Great Plains and Southwest to California? I imagine a Republic of California would want to clamp down on it if there's an equivalent to prevent what they might see as being swamped by economic migrants and refugees.

Might the migrants migrate internally to the eastern US. I would imagine the less densely populates independent states of the west would be more appealing.

I guess a lot would also depend on whether Oklahoma/Sequoia were US or CSA or Texan and whether Oklahoma still had the greatest proportion of its population emigrate.
