PC: Anti-war movement in Japan over Manchuria?

In OTL, Japan's quick success in Manchuria resulted in it being celebrated by the Japanese public, with only a few leftist newspapers complaining about it, despite Japan's then-lax censorship laws. But let's say that China is able to actually put up a resistance against the Japanese and it devolves into a quagmire, with the conflict chewing up Japanese soldiers. Is it plausible for a anti-war movement to emerge in Japan to protest against the war, convincing the Emperor to take action against the Kwuntung Army's renegade leadership?
