PC and WI: KKK Puts McAdoo in the WH 1924?

McAdoo's been described as pretty Wilsonian in philosophy, so I imagine economically he'd be fairly liberal; what really interests me about TTL is the social policy, with McAdoo, like Wilson, a Confederate apologist, and the KKK pretty much uncurbed (e.g. Long, whatever good things you can say about him, was the Klan's choice in the 1924 Louisiana race)...

Fair points all around...

could the KKK have maintained its pervasive influence in American politics and society, remaining as one of the most powerful organizations in dictating social policy?
There really is an upper limit on that: the Holocaust. After WW2, it became way, way less acceptable to be a racist asshole.:rolleyes: What you may end up getting an even more dramatic change away from prewar conditions, in reaction: earlier acceptance of the Civil Rights Act?

Assuming the McAdoo wins and then wins a second term owing to the good economy, the Republicans (perhaps led by T.R. Junior?) are a shoo-in come 1932.
