PC/AHC/WI: A 16th century Persiascrew with a twist...

Help wanted. Not sure if this is totally feasible but it's worth a shot as it's an interesting scenario...

The POD is Russia failing to subdue the territories east of the Urals and an over zealously expansionistic Persia has a go, successfully conquering Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, most of Siberia, and possibly more of Central Asia that in OTL went Russian.

However, overextended the Persians leave themselves open to conquest by an alliance of the Ottoman Empire and the Mughal Empire who jointly seize most of modern day Iran and split it between themselves (a map might be useful here. Help?).

This leaves Persia with only territory they did not hold OTL at all to my knowledge, a Persia with little to no Persian territory. A frozen Persia.

When Russia tries for round two in the late 16th or early 17th Century it is more successful, conquering and colonizing a semi-Persianized Central Asia and Siberia.

Persia either ceases to exist or there's a small Persian rump, not sure.

Anyway, is this feasible at all and if so anyone got any ideas for this?

ASB. Persia lacks the power projection and the interest to get beyond Kazakhstan, and your scenario depends upon other local actors doing nothing to check Persian power during this meteoric rise anyway.

Well, much of that lack of interest and ability was because those regions were largely swallowed by Ivan the Terrible. That is not so ttl and a Persia goes for it.

Other local actors (Russia which wants these regions but failed to take them ttl, The Mughals who are an anthill stirred by the Ottomans, and the Ottomans who are vastly overextended ttl) do try to check the expanse, but apart from local victories there isn't much any of them can do to stop them.

The Ottomans and Mughals are too far away (and too disinterested) to do much about a northern expanding Persia and Russia who would be the only real threat to this expansion, can't even conquer the natives. Persia is left unchecked for a century.

The three local actors mentioned above do eventually take advantage of Persian overextension and smite them, thus the term Persiascrew.

You're still ignoring geographic realities.
