PC: A Rap with National Anthem Sample

Okay, I have no idea how plausible or implausible this is, because I know so little about rap music. However, I had a dream recently where someone rapped over a sample of the Soviet National Anthem about the casualties of the Great Patriotic War.

Now, obviously, that probably isn't happening, since I don't think World War 2 is a popular music topic in that category. However, how plausible is it for a rap song to sample a national anthem? I mean, okay, this has probably happened, however can a somewhat popular song plausibly do this?

A lot of Canadian ones, which is interesting, to say the least.

Soviet Union one is just boring by comparison to the first Canada one.:(:p

The other Canadian one sounds too much like a normal rap song.:p

I don't know why this would be implausible. Immortal Technique or someone like him might have already sampled the US anthem ironically.

Well true, but isn't the National Anthem wasn't one of those things that has become, "Holy," if you will, in regards to being touched?

But for my dream itself, that IS ASB. Someone rapping about the Eastern Front in World War 2 with lines like,

"What do you know about sacrifice?
Have you trudged through ice,
With your feet wrapped in bandages,
While Nazis unleash rape and carnage,
Upon your family with death camps and cartridges?"

Is ASB for cultural reasons alone.

Probably not for artists with a strong anti-establishment message. Example.

I don't know, I'm sure there is Russian nationalist rap. Probably not much, but some.

For the latter, conservatism and rap don't really go together, and Russian Nationalism is I think conservative usually.

Besides, the rapper was American, and was rapping it in response to jingoism I think.

But, okay, I could see it as the most rebellious song imaginable from someone with historical knowledge. Because the song itself is basically about how the United States hasn't ever really had to sacrifice, and uses the Soviet Union as a comparison. I may actually post the full thing as part of a timeline, hmm...

Anyway, in some ways, the song I think would be more controversial than any traditional rap song would ever be because it would be directly insulating American nationalism, in some ways.

That part is true.

Exactly, the other two didn't really use their sample well. The Soviet One was just the Anthem remixed with somewhat hip-hopish beats, the other Canadian one hardly used the sample at all outside a little bit in the chorus.

This one integrates seamlessly into the beat, hence, it uses the sample well.

I've listened to songs that have samples from National anthems in them. This is ridiculous.

Actually, it uses it the entire time (except presumably the third verse). It's just chopped, which is generally a much better and more technical use of samples.
