Pax Gallicana [LONG!]

It is an interesting timeline and an impressive effort that you have made in creating it

I agree with the other partners in demanding that you continue it please.

See, I can't see this happening. The French were reviled in South America; and if they come as part of an invading army.....

I think that it could happen perfectly and plaussibily, in OTL the Liberation Wars of South America were in a lot of cases also civil wars between "patriots" and "loyalists", for example in Peru the majority of the population was loyalist (or at least not opposed to the spanish dominion), a great proportion of the troops that fought against Bolivar and other independentist leaders were recruited from South America, in fact from 1820 the majority of the troops IIRC in the spanish side were south-americans, it was in fact a civil war between partidaries of Spain and independentists.

Also we should remember that in OTL Ferdinand VII made petition to the Holy Alliance and principally to the french to help him in fight the independists, in TTL also the french would not be seen as the invasors of Spain (not Spanish Independence War of 1808-1814) but as loyal allies of Spain.

So I think that it is plaussible (and with the Royal navy neutralized because the british defeat the naval transport would be easy).
