Pax Gallia: A Timeline

This is different from Pax Francia as it starts in 1804.

Note: In this timeline, Vice Admiral Latouche Treville does not get ill, and does not die in 1804. He is well and alive.

"All hail Napoleon the First! Vive l'empereur!" the people of France chant. December 2, 1804. Napoleon is crowned as Emperor of the French. The new emperor has plans to execute. It is the beginning of the War of the Third Coalition. His adversaries are Imperial Russia, the British Empire, and Austria, for the most part. Napoleon has useful allies: the French satellite of the Batavian Republic, and Spain. Napoleonic Italy is serving as a buffer to Austrian interests in Italy and is constantly under threat of attack.

Emperor Napoleon has assembled an army, The Army of the Ocean Coasts. Napoleon has approximately 200,000 men under his command. He decides that this army will be used for the Invasion of Great Britain. Under the Emperor's orders, Vice Admiral Latouche Treville is sent to the English Channel to overcome the Royal Navy in order for the Invasion of Britain to take place. Latouche sails with 29 SoTLs (ships of the line) from the port of Auray.

Napoleon has a huge army ready to invade Britain, but he decides that the Austrian/Russian threat to the eastern French borders is too imminent when the Third Coalition declares war on him and he moves his Army of the Ocean Coasts to the east. With that, 200,000 men are ready to defend the easternmost borders of France.

In the United Kingdom, everyone is anxious of a French invasion. The British decide to buff up naval activity in the Channel. They constantly wait, day by day, for a French fleet to show up, but for weeks and weeks nothing happens. Over in Austria, Holy Roman Emperor Francis II starts to prepare an invasion force to beat back the French scoundrels. Tsar Alexander the First in Russia does the same. Altogether, Austrian forces number 96,500. Russian forces number 89,000. The Russians make the trek to the west to meet up with the Austrians. Austrian forces wait near Vienna for their allies. The Batavian Republic, a French puppet, sends several thousand trained men to France to bolster Napoleon's army. Spain rallies their own army, numbering up to 74,000 men. The Spanish prepare to embark to Naples to reclaim their old colony, the Kingdom of Naples, which is helping the Coalition.

In my opinion this community doesn't like French wanks :p. But on a more serious note - I'm curious to see how this plays out.

It's not that the community doesn't like a French wank so much as it begs for one to be plausible. However, as Le Petit Caporal said: L'imagination gouverne le monde. ;)

Nice this one will looks better, sorry if was a little of a d#~@ in the other one, sorry but that one looks so much ASB for my taste, but this one have potential.

And don't belive other, francewank and other are accepted, unless are pausable or full asb, not in between, but this looks promising, keep going.

Battle of the Strait of Sicily, February 18

RJh9SjO.png

Under the prestigious Admiral Miguel Riviera, 17 Spanish SoTLs sail for Naples. They decide to strike the eastern shore of the Kingdom of Naples by landing troops there. Doing so, they pass through the Strait of Sicily. Under orders by the commander of the British Mediterranean fleets, Admiral Treville, Vice-Admiral Gate of the Royal Navy takes 21 British SoTLs to intercept the Spanish and prevent the attack on Naples. The two fleets meet in the middle of the Strait of Sicily.

Gate's line moves in. The British ships decide to pass directly through the center of the Spanish line, meaning the two Spanish ships between the British ships will suffer extremely heavy damage. Admiral Riviera, an experienced fighter against the Royal Navy, predicts that this will happen, and so he reforms his line into a line astern, and sails towards the British fleet. The two fleets form a parallel line, and the battle begins.

The British are the first to fire. They also have a numerical advantage. However, the Spanish ships are much larger and have more guns. The first three British ships- 64-gun fourth rates- are decimated by the huge Spanish ships-122-gun first rates. The Spanish ships are MUCH more durable, have MUCH more firepower, and have MUCH larger crews. As the battle progresses, the British begin to lose more and more of their ships. Riviera orders the boarding of every British ship. At this point of the battle, there are 13 Spanish ships, and 11 British ships. The large Spanish ships, with much larger crews than their British counterparts, are able to decisively defeat the crews of the British ships. 6 British ships are captured. One British ship however, defeats the Spanish ship it was boarded by, and escapes. Vice-Admiral Gate is killed during battle. Altogether, Britain loses twenty ships. Spain loses 4. It is the worst naval blow to the British Empire in decades.

Thanks to the naval brilliancy of Admiral Miguel Riviera, the planned Invasion of Naples can take place. The invasion fleet sails forth, uninterrupted, and eventually lands near the port of Bari, on the eastern coast of Naples. Over 70,000 Spaniards land on Neapolitan land on March 15th. The people of Naples tremble in fear. Their whole army numbers around 56,000 men. The British, Austrians, Russians, have no way to get to Naples in time. To the countries of Europe, it seems that the crown of Spain is about to reclaim its former possession.
