Seriously, outside of her core followers,
noone likes that woman.
At least, noone south of Queensland ...
That's the thing. Queensland. In their state election in 1998 she got 23% of the primary vote. That was more than Liberals and the Nationals each got. (I know!

) Additionally, it could be argued that the Howard Government got re-elected in 2001 through co-opting One Nation policies on asylum seekers. So even though Hanson
herself was too repulsive, there was still a far-right undercurrent there to be taken advantage of.
Not only that, but the thing about Pauline Hanson was that she was a figure of ridicule for most of the population, which was a big part of why she and One Nation ended up totally discredited. There was stuff like the "Please explain?" meme and the Pauline Pantsdown songs. You can't make fun of her as easily if she's been murdered.
So I'm wondering -- if Hanson dies right around the time One Nation are still a big deal, what happens next? Does One Nation collapse? Do they rally around her as a symbol? Do they all flock to one of the other racist nutjob parties like Australians Against Further Immigration or Australia First? What happens to the Liberals and to Labor?
