So, WI Paul Wellstone survived his plane accident on Oct. 25, 2002, or otherwise avoided it? IOTL, he had originally been scheduled to campaign in Minneapolis with Ted Kennedy and debate Norm Coleman on the same day, but didn't do either because his friend Tom Rukavina's (now a member of the MN House of Representatives and candidate for Governor of Minnesota in 2010) father died and was having his funeral the same day. Wellstone decided to attend the funeral rather than campaigning and debating, and while flying to it, his plane crashed in a forest, where he and his wife and one of his children died.
So, WI Wellstone had decided to skip the funeral? Or WI the funeral had been delayed? Or WI he had the accident but survived? I'm assuming Wellstone would win re-election to the Senate, considering his popularity in Minnesota. Would he run for president in 2004? 2008? I've been thinking of writing a timeline on this. Your ideas?
