Paul-Buchanan 1992

In 1992, Ron Paul considered running for President as a Libertarian again. Instead he opted to support Pat Buchanan's 1992 campaign.

What if Paul and Buchanan had formed an independent ticket? Would they limit the success of Perot? Could we see a 4-way race?

Clinton wins big because Buchanan siphons support off of Bush.

Paul/Buchanan would draw some votes from Perot, some from Bush, and relatively few from Clinton. So I think Clinton would win a bit more easily than in OTL.

Given that both Paul and Buchanan did at different times run as third party candidates for president without much success, I doubt they would do that well as a team in 1992. They would probably do better than Paul did in 1988 or Buchanan in 2000, but that's not saying much.
