Partition of the ottoman empire by Suleiman the Magnificent

I doubt Suleiman would ever do this. He wasn't stupid enough to not know this would greatly weaken the empire, and there is no real precedent for this in Ottoman history at that.

depending on the border It could allow one sultan to focus on one front

There was no precedent for him to get married or the Romans to divide their empire

Him getting married was a break in tradition true, but it didn't really affect his government that much.

And the Romans split the empire because it was too large for one government to manage with the technology of the time. Not only did the Ottomans have over a thousand years of technological advances at their disposal (better ships for naval connections, the printing press, paper, gunpowder), the empire wasn't so large as to be uncontrollable at that point. There were some periphery areas such as the Hijaz or Tunis, but those were the exception. There also wasn't really anyway to split the empire, since the periphery areas were so far apart from one another. If the Ottomans conquered Persia or somehow got wanked into taking Italy or something maybe then I could see the empire splitting, but not with the empire as it was when Suleiman died.

Suleiman would have to be insane, but let's take this at face value. Most likely his successors fight amongst themselves until only one is left standing. In the meantime their external foes bite off pieces and the resurgent Ottomans regain much of what they lose.

say Bayezid and Mustafa aren't killed would it be possible for Suleiman the Magnificent to decide to divide his empire after his death among his three sons

What territory would each son get

How successful would each part of the empire be

Would someone try to reconquer the whole empire

Unless Suleiman turns insane around 1550... it is not gonna happen. There is reason why fraticide happened. There is reason why Bayezid II immediately fought Cem. And if Suleiman orders it Mustafa will not accept it. He has the army to support him and he will be the sultan.
