Partition of Sweden, or partition of Denmark, in early modern era

How could we change Scandinavian history between the dissolution of the Kalmar Union in 1523 and 1900 so that one or more of the regional states ends up completely partitioned like the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

For example- a partition of Sweden between Russia and Denmark-Norway.

Or a partition of Denmark between Sweden and Brandenburg-Prussia.

Or a total end to Scandinavian independence through a Russian annexation of Denmark and Sweden, or a partition of Scandinavia between Russia and Britain, or Russia and Britain and a third power like Netherlands or Brandenburg-Prussia or France or Poland or the HRE.

It’s pretty difficult for Sweden to be partitioned in that period, you would need an earlier POD for that.

For Denmark though, the easiest way would be for Sweden to gobble up the sorry remains of the aristocratic republic in 1658/59. IIRC that was the ambition of Charles X Gustav during the time of the Second Northern War. However, this doesn’t strictly fit the term partition.

Another way would be for the Count’s Feud to go horribly wrong for the Danes. Gustav Vasa had designs on Scania and some of the Norwegian provinces, if the war is even more destructive and if Christian II’s attack on Norway is successful (IOTL it failed because a large part of his army, including all of his siege artillery, was lost at sea) you could end up with a situation of the Eastern Danish/Norwegian provinces going to Sweden, Norway proper under Christian II and the rump Danish realm under either Christian III, Albrecht VII of Mecklenburg or Count Christoffer of Oldenburg.

A full Swedish conquest of Norway some time in the 1600s, in addition to Scania (like in OTL), would be interesting. Could Brandenburg-Prussia maybe conquer Jutland, while the Danish kingdom survives for some time on the islands?

What kind of situation could produce the maximum expansion of Russia into Scandinavia, like all of Finland, and more beyond that.

I think near the end of the Great Northern War and Charles' career, there were Russian fleet operations and raids that were extending as far as the Swedish homeland.

There was certainly a period where it looked like Sweden might go the same way as Poland, falling under Russian domination and eventual annexation.

I wasn't aware of the details or the view that it had gone that far. Are you talking the same period I mentioned, the Great Northern War, or later?

What about an eventual outcome where Denmark reclaims all the old 'Danish territory on the southern end of the Scandinavian peninsula, and Norway reclaims some of its former territory east of the mountains from Sweden, while Russia get the entire Baltic and Bothnian shore of Sweden, including Stockholm?

What if we change the formula - I'll propose a PoD - Catherine's husband Peter survives in power. He goes to war with Denmark in the 1760s to capture Schleswig from Denmark- it was part of his claimed Holstein inheritance. The war continues on with the Russians also getting all Jutland and Sjaelland. At the same time, Peter's uncle, who was king of Sweden at this time, invades and seizes much of Norway from the Dano-Norwegian union.

This war and these annexations are only the first of a series, and Denmark is fairly crippled by its loss in the first war, so by the time of the third Danish partition, Sweden gets complete control of Norway and Russia gets complete control of Denmark, including Zealand and Copenhagen.
