Partition: India, Pakistan, (Bangladesh) and Hyderabad

What would have to happen, for a present day India..Pakistan..Bangladesh and Hyderabad that was not annexed into India in 1948? How would the situation in Southern Asia be? Worse? Better? Would this region be unstable like Pakistan? Or would it come to be stable like India?

I'm thinking that a modern day Hyderabad country would be similar to that of Pakistan, which is not really that stable. Or would it be like Bangladesh? With problems happening every so often, but mostly quiet to a extent? How would India deal with a independent country within itself?

an Independent Hyderabad would certainly have religious tensions and a very low HDI which would be a major problem for stablility.

Because the Nizam initially refused to accede, but was pressured by Mountbatten and Patel until he gave in, plus keeping the title and purses later abolished by Mrs. Gandhi. The other option was being forcibly annexed, which Indira Gandhi would almost certainly do at one point during her premiership (assuming Indian politics follows the same trajectory as OTL, and there's no reason why not given the POD) as she did for other states.

Yeah, if Kashmir can't get independence, it basically means neither India nor Pakistan would ever back down from having the whole piece of the pie. Quite sad, really.
