One of the after maths of the 1940 campaign against France was evidence that the Pzkpf III and Iv were under gunned. Hitler ordered that the Pzkpf III be up gunned with a long 50mm gun but that was not done. Suppose that Hitler pressed the point and all of the Pzkpf III were up gunned for the campaign against Russia and they had the long 50mm gun. This would have given them a greater chance to match the T-34. If the Pzfpf IV was also produce with a long 75mm gun the germans would have been more than capable of beating the Soviets. If at the same time the start of the campaign also resulted in the approval of the Skoda T-25 design the Axis forces on the Eastern front would be more than capable of holding their own in 1942.
