Pan-Islamic resistance in SE Asia by 1900

By 1900, there were a few substantial islamic entities fighting against European colonial forces in SE Asia, such as the Acehnese against the Dutch, the Moros against the Spaniards, & certain local sultans in Malaya & Borneo against the British. Now, WI these Ilsamist forces had made common cause against the Europeans ? Is tehre any way a pan-Islamic resistance movement could've been generated in SE Asia as a counter to European colonialism ?
