Pan-Iranism was the ideology that the Iranian peoples (Persian, Pashtun, Baluch, Kurd, etc) should unite to form one nation. Could it been possible for the movement to take off successfully than it did OTL and be able to gain a following in the Iranian countries and territories? And if so could’ve it led to a Pan-Iranian country that would’ve been successful?

Qajars join the allies durring WWI, with their army modernized by the British and Russians they are able to take Kurdistan durring the fall of the Ottomans (Kurds, check) and reestablish their traditional hegemony over the South Caucasus states (Ossetians, Tats, Mountain Jews, check) durring the Russian Civil War. Pan-Iranism begins to take off in Tehran. In 1929 Amanullah Khan's deposition by revolt and the following revolving door of Kings prompts an Iranian intervention eventually leading to annexation following a rigged referendum (varrious Afghan demographics, check). Rather than joining Pakistan in 1948, the four Balochi princely states agree to join Iran instead as the Iranian monarch guarantees their titles, (Balochi, check) and Pakistan can't do much about it given that it's at war with India at this time.

You forgot the Pashtun states in Pakistan. But this looks alright. But let’s remind ourselves that this movement came after WWI so there’s that.

I had the movement come about after WWI. I had the Qajars gobble up the Kurds and Caucasus on their own initiative.

It's pretty easy with an 18th century PoD. It is near impossible with a PoD in the 19th century or later. The civil war after Nader Shah fell was just too destructive and Russia and Britain had grown too strong in the region for a post Nader PoD to work, I think.

What if Iran was occupied by foreign powers? Would that cause such a development to happen?

Granted, that leaves very little of Pakistan left besides the Punjab and Sindh. Maybe Iran cuts a deal with the Sikhs and Pakistan ends up as Khalistan and a Sindh puppet state?

Well I had Iran acquire Baluchistan durring the Kashmir War. So maybe Pakistan protests too vigorously and Iran invades from the West and Pakistan is partitioned between it and India?

So the Sindh and Punjab goes back to India along with Kashmir then?

India will be close buddies with Iran thanks to that

Iran defeats Iraq so thoroughly during the Iran-Iraq War that it's able to annex Iraqi Kurdistan under the basis of pan-Iranism.

I think it could be successful for a time but it would have to depend on Iran imposing its domination on other Iranian peoples similar to what Serbia did to Southern Slavs after World War 1. Though such a union would likely collapse like Yugoslavia
