Would this be better for India or the same as IOTL?

What if, in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1946-1947, Pakistan had taken the Kashmir Valley and India had taken Gilgit-Baltistan? I read this idea mentioned in another thread and there, it was believed, that, it would be much better for India, since Gilgit-Baltistan had, and, still, has a much smaller/lower population than the Kashmir Valley's, that would probably lead to a much more reduced insurgency. I agree. In addition, Gilgit-Baltistan is Shia and when Pakistan started anti-Shia policies in this timeline, any support for it, in Gilgit-Baltistan, would disappear. What are your thoughts?

Pakistan may move its capital to a different location. Gilgit-Baltistan seems too mountainous for large scale infantry and armored battles, but airbases there might be able to bomb Islamabad or drop paratroopers around it.

This may create different strategies in the Into-Pakistani wars. Punjab is relatively flat terrain like the Northern European plain that's good for tank warfare, so Pakistani control of the Kashmir valley may make it easier to advance into Indian Punjab and Haryana. I'm not a military expert, this is just an educated guess.

I think geography doesn't favor the development of such a situation. The Kashmir Valley is closer to Jammu and Ladakh regions of India. Gilgit-Baltistan is near the North-West parts of Pakistan and with out Kashmir Valley, access is difficult from Indian bases. Though both India and Pakistan claim the entire State of Jammu-Kashmir, actual bone of contention is only the Valley of Kashmir. Pakistan is not interested in Hindu majority Jammu and Buddhist dominated Ladakh. India is not interested in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir with a huge Muslim majority.
