Paerl Harbor- Japanese Attack Discovered Early

This is just... awful. Absolutely godawful.

And the "explanations" you post make it even worse because they prove you've little idea what you're talking about. Having Honolulu attempt a stern chase, let alone win one, is a prime example of that.

An early warning of the Pearl Harbor attack is an often discussed topic here. Use the search function, find some threads, and read some posts by people who know what they're talking about.

Thank you for the very kind reception. I'll go find another forum where I can post things which won't be, well yeah. :(

I like it, please do continue. It's great entertainment, even with the errors. It'd be nice if people would help without being insulting or discouraging you. Maybe one of these kind gentlemen would agree to be a beta for you, to help correct the most blatant or implausible mistakes before you post. It's important that it be realistic, but in small matters I feel that creative license is a good thing.

I agree that I'm being rather of a burro. Perhaps it would be best for me to wait and watch other TL's for a while. Worked at en.wiki (but there I wasn't bombarded upon arrival)

Aye, don't be dishartened by the nay sayers. The technical issues aside its a well written attempt, don't be dissuaded, its far from terrible and Flubber give him a chance, at least he's actually posted a TL.

First wave had a total of 45 fighters. Pearl Harbor had ~100 fighter-esque aircraft. Nine of the 45 were off performing defensive CAP duties for the strikeforce.

First wave was slated for 45 fighters, but only 43 participated. All went to Hawaii, none were held back. Against an alerted defense, Genda planned to lead with a fighter sweep. That is, 80 fighters, no bombers.

During the five raids of Operation I-Go in 1943, about 250 better Allied pilots flying better planes against far worse IJN opponents flying the same planes scored about 50 kills.

Generally speaking, air combat is less bloody per capita the more planes that participate. That is to say, if 10 planes engage it was not unusual to lose 4. If 100 planes engage, it was not unusual to lose 15. Review carefully the engagements over Guadacanal, where it was not unusual for 30 or 50 defending fighters to come away with only a few victories one day, but on another (but rare day) score as many as ten or twelve.

Please stay and continue your story. Alternate History is just that Alternate to actual. While most try to always stay within a guide line of what happened in the real timeline, there is nothing wrong with you changing history to fit your story. If you want the fleet to sail after the scouts but before the raid so be it. If you want a naval gun battle so be it. REMEMBER it's your story tell it the way you want.
