I know it's ridiculous that I'm already coming up with a new ATL idea when I haven't even completed the last three TLs I've started in the past few months. But I just can't help it. This one is more of a combination of two ATL ideas I've had and been researching on this site for a while.
Though right now, I'm not starting a new TL. I'm already pre-occupied with rebooting "The Blessing of Saint Olaf" and, hopefully, writing a proper ending to "Angelus Hispaniae". This post is just to give a taste of what I have in mind.
1st POD: William, Duke of Gloucester, the only child of Anne Stuart to live past infancy, is born without hydrocephalus and succeeds his mother to the throne of Great Britain. He also marries either Ulrika Eleanora of Sweden, Sophia Dorothea of Hanover (OTL mother of Frederick the Great of Prussia) or Tsarevna Catherine (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsarevna_Catherine_Ivanovna_of_Russia#), a niece of Peter the Great.
2nd POD: IOTL, Hedwig Sophia of Sweden was part of talks to marry her to Prince Charles of Denmark. Here, she marries Charles' elder brother, Christian, who was closer to her in age. She and her ATL son, instead of Ulrika Eleanora, inherit the Swedish throne.
3rd POD: Joseph Ferdinand of Bavaria, the original heir presumptive of Charles II of Spain, survives and becomes Joseph I of Spain. Louis XIV gains Naples, Sicily and Iberian Navarre for his son as per the partition treaty and Joseph, in the absence of legitimate daughters or granddaughters of the Sun King, marries Louisa Maria Stuart.
Any thoughts? Too many butterflies? If there's anything you personally don't agree with, please tell me! I can't write or improve without feedback.
