Of course, we will see many different variants even within Rykovism in the future for sure.
Well, tbh I was probably the main reason why the focus was on international issues, as i was spamming initiatives left and right XD

But it was never my intention to monopolise the thread, I simply wanted to create better position of USSR in a world where international order was set against us by the West. Right now I dont feel that i can add anything meaningful to the thread, so I will gladly take the backseat and give space for others to show initiative.
While good to put the USSR in a better position but it's best to mostly focus on internal issues since both Trotsky and Stalin are still a threat, even if their far from Moscow, so...

Man, Im glad that we chose moderate candidate like Rykov. Of course no one is perfect, but in my opinion Rykov is the best choice that we could make. What the country needed after the civil war is sensible and well balanced approach to various things, which could be beneficial to both the people and tje state.

Now moving on to Trotsky and Stalin - for the sake of union and communism, I hope that they will never get into power as it would be a catastrophe for all of us. Trotsky will gladly send millions of people to certain death in pursuit of his mad ideas. And Stalin will completely destroy party, soviet population, the state and turn USSR into continent spanning gulag.
Yeah we kind of got lucky there, unlike OTL, at least for now, but also this form of Cmmunism will spawn some bad guys in the future as well. liek all ideologies do.
And as for future chapters, it was already discussed, but from now on we should focus on internal politics/situation of USSR. As much as I like international politics there is nothing new and meaningful which I can propose to raise international position of USSR. We have secured and strengthened position of USSR on international stage, but there is nothing much what we can do taking into account our current military and economic strength.

I wont be posting many initatives in the future, as I'm not an expert on how we can improve domestic situation of USSR in various fields, so I hope that more comrades will be active on these topics with their initiatives.

@CountofDooku - I have a favour to ask. I know that you have just posted a new chapter, but could you make a chapter which would cover domestic initiatives of comrades @Dude-a-Buck, @CometChaser and @Wolf-Salami as they have posted interesting initiatives, but they havent been covered in last updates. It would be good to see it covered in separate update, as I believe these are were theirs first(?) initiatives here, so it would be a good example that players initiatives are ignored or forgotten, of course that is not the case, but we want to engage as many players with their initiatives as we can.
We will clearly see international crisis and situations that can aid the Soviet Union going forward, or be used by it. Will gladly focud on these initiatives, hope to find them all coreectly (If anyone has a link that could help also as long as it aint to much toruble).

Clearly a update for them is planend as well, since mroe players engaging and more initiatives is always welcome and encouraged here ^^
@panpiotr I agree since I also wouldn't want Trotsky and Stalin or their faction come to power but as time goes on, socialism and communism will start dividing and forming different ideologies as technology, culture, and society evolves and advance so we may see Trotskyism, Stalinism, and eventually Rykovism *dissolve.

I also agree on focusing on internal issues a lot more since the last time it was mentioned was 'Red or White' chapter (I think...).
Indeed it will, local leaders will clearly take their own spin on things Wangism in China will be immensely different then Rykovism and others will as well.

A mroe internally focussed chapter will come up next, that's a Count promise ;D
Just want to get out a overall intenal rivals and ideology chapter out for all the Our AU/TL within the next updates overall (slowly not all at once, since I like making banners/ flags for all and those take some time.

next chapter initiatives
Best I can do is 1k to 2k, so overall a few smaller ones to cover larger topics because of time constrains XD :p

Are this all missing to be addressed for the next chapter?
On the Rights & Privileges of the Soviet Woman.
There is no greater up tapped source of power in the modern world than that of women. For centuries women have been shackled in the roles of mother, wife & caregiver, her worth determined solely on how well she cooks, cleans and tends to the whim of her husband to whom she is expected to submit in all things. This repression is a relic of the Tsarist age and should be placed in the dustbin of history where it belongs. To achieve this I recommend the following measures.

1) Let us codify into law the right to a "no clause" divorce so that any woman (or man) who is unhappy in their marriage may free themselves from an unhappy union.
2) Let us codify into law the unlimited right to abortion, to be made available on demand of the pregnant party and paid for by the state.
3) Let us implement stiff penalties for domestic abusers for if a man is willing to assault his own wife what other neferious actions is he capable of?
4) Related to the above, let us sign the criminalization of marital rape into law with the same penalty as non-marital rape.
5) Let us codify into law that women shall not be excluded from the workplace based on sole account of their sex. Furthermore, women in the workplace must receive equal rights, treatment and wages as their male comrades.
6) Let us abolish the archaic practice of a woman being forced to adopt her husband's surname upon marriage. While she may if she chooses to, the Soviet Woman should have the option to keep her previous surname, combined the two or even have the husband adopt hers if he is willing.
7) Let us codify into law the unrestrained right of women to vote and even run for & hold elected office.
8) Let us establish a new holiday to be called "International Women's Day" to honor the contributions of women not just in our Union but across the world and throughout history.

In that case, I propose the following:
- Collectivize the farms into cooperatives, where the state provides funding, equipment and supplies, and the farmers work together to produce as much food as possible. The food will then be distributed locally, and any surplus will be stored in case of shortages.
- Encourage having more children, perhaps so as to raise the new vanguards of socialism and to see them prosper working with and for the country or something like that? However, I would imagine that when a woman has free will, and does not need to choose between a career and a child, they will have children (as they do not need to sacrifice their independence).
- For that, I propose we build child care centers, for young children to be sent to while their parents are at work. Or, we could let the parents stay home and pay them anyway (raising the new generation is an important job too), and we should encourage fathers to play a more active role with the children and within the house. However, I must stress that we cannot force people to have children. This will lead to the child being unwanted, or hated, and potentially abused. We should allow the parents to decide whether they are ready and whether they want to.
- Lastly, the most important. We must create a new education system that empowers the child to think critically with an open mind. Do not just teach them the history that portrays us as good, but teach them the awful parts, so that they may know what to be careful of. Teach the young boy that he should help his hypothetical future wife in the kitchen and with the children, and teach the young girl that she should help her hypothetical future husband at work. Teach every child that both genders are equal, that socialism is a better system (don't just teach it, SHOW it! Display the inherent inefficiencies of capitalism and how socialism benefits the many instead of the few.), and that they should keep an open mind ready to accept new things. Educating the new generation is the most important duty of the state, as it will allow us to progress further than almost anything else we could do.

Comrades, I think one thing we should talk about the new possibility that this Eurasian treaty offers us in terms of transport, Propaganda, research, militarily and even as a way to ease our budget.

Instead of thinking simply in terms of trains vs. cars we need to think of the 3rd possibility that will give us the most benefits long term: Planes.

Imagine a person being able to travel from Beijing to Berlin in less than a day? With a connection that lands in our glorious Soviet Union, it'll do wonders to build solidarity with comrades from other countries.

Also, with propaganda imagine the average worker being being to look overhead and see a Soviet plane, or even a remote village being able to receive aid easily from the central government much quicker than if we built train routes or paved roads, and that's only internally! Can you imagine the reaction of those abroad who are used to European Imperialism watching Soviet planes and seeing them drop down supplies and foreign aid even in the most remote and unreachable parts of Asia, South America, Africa, etc?

And if we are being cynical, if a war breaks out along one of our borders or even within from a rebellion; we'll be able to get troops to the front line much quicker from an airbase and with the development of our Air Doctrine we'll be able to drop enemy's behind enemy lines and create encirclements.

We'd be able to also create a solid and state of the art research, while we'll never compete with British Naval tech or American Armour, we could invest in Airpower early and be the top in the globe by the 1940s.

My last point is in terms of budget, it'll be cheaper for us to build multiple airports and can even use American style short domestic flights to help connect cities and towns while if we used railways or roads we'd have to deal with draining swampland / making the terrain suitable for either while planes wouldn't have those problems.

That is why comrade we should connect our routes with Planes and try to develop an industry that can not only build passenger aircraft but also Cargo planes.

(The images I've included are of the Tupolev ANT-9, a passenger plane from the USSR OTL that was one of the first domestically produced planes.)

Considering the Soviet Union is in a lot more of a stable position and we find ourselves in an environment that is not as hostile as OTL; I think we should free up some resources to make way for R&D and make scientific advances in ways that we wouldn't be able to OTL that'll help improve our countrymen and their lives.

Speaking of, while we are far off from any talk of computing, we still have other avenues of investigation as well as our current year of 1926 means we can take advantage of human capital that won't be available to us for whatever reason.

Plus, we have incredible scientists and doctors who are committed Bolsheviks.

I suggest comrades we make a Bureau of Proletariat Science; who will advance science to help advance the working class and take care of their needs/desires.

Three people who definitely should not only be part of this endeavour but potentially heads of the Bureau should be:

- Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (Father of Modern Rocketry, who if given funding will provide us with research and equipment that'll help raise up the Proletariat and be useful in any upcoming conflict.)

- Alexander Bogdanov (Doctor & at this time, head of his field in Hematology who's research can help improve the quality of Soviet Healthcare and if his energies are properly directed could prevent his early OTL death. Also, his standing among the ProleKult faction could help win over the artists, doctors, philosophers and other scientists who are skeptical of us.)

- Boris Hessen (Physisist and created a work that laid the foundation for what we today know as the historiography of science.)

I also propose the eminent comrade Nikolai Vavilov to this position.

Pretty much since us humans has a very long history of being divided so... yeah.

Speaking of flags/banners, where's the Galactic Empire's and other Star Wars ones (beside the Old Republic one).

forum didn't show notifs from this thread i thought it was dead for a whole week ;-;
Planes, huh? Excellent idea... they are, after all, the best way to get around quickly. And, the best way to build international peace is through travel, as Alex Waltz said somewhere in the 92 or something chapters of BIDSG. We can use these to build trust and cooperation between us and our allies: people, after all, will be more open to working with people they know as open, welcoming, and with great food and culture.
I do agree, using planes will change warfare fundamentally. I suggest that we use a doctrine of first establishing superiority over the air, before using our planes to deliver supplies faster, drop troops into enemy territory, and, most importantly, to disrupt enemy communications and logistics. If we are to lose control of the air, a smart enemy would be able to do these to us, and we would lose the war.
And about using planes for transport of goods... sounds like a very good idea. However, we should take great pains to ensure these planes are safe, or simply use safer methods to transport more sensitive material...

I disagree whit this part 2) Let us codify into law the unlimited right to abortion, to be made available on demand of the pregnant party and paid for by the state.
the problem whit this it could be abused as from of birth control i think it should be legal but rare and instead we should teach safe sex and make sure condom are able to be bought everywhere

I don't see it as an "either/or" scenario. We can make safe sex a part of our educational curriculum, make contraceptives easy to obtain & ensure that abortion is an option when the inevitable unplanned pregnancy occurs.

Well comrades here is my personal opinion on such issues. Such topics as abortion, access to contraceptives are touching most intimate parts of lives of soviet society - I think that the people should make decisions on such topics, not the party or state.

What I suggest is organizing law-biding referendums in each soviet republic, where the people will make their choice. What is more, these referendums should be similar to Switzerland where each region can choose their policy - so for example people in Ukrainian SSR want free access to abortion, and people in Kazakh SSR want more restricted access, so in each SSR will be a different approqch basing on the peoples choice.

I can accept that.

I was thinking that we should have a successor once Rykov dies since he died in 1938 IOTL but since he's the premier so that would cause quite a lot of stress and may die earlier... or make it where the people elect the next premier so both Trotsky and/or Stalin doesn't rewrite or create a fake will.

A legal sucession and how to do it would definetly in our best interest and something Rykov would plan long before, unlike others.

Soviet-Italian Communist relations could be better, as Italy is still very opposing and opressing against the Communists and Socialists overall, albeit not as directly and harsh as OTL (for now). Things are warming up and getting better, but it will take overall time.
