Allright chaps, First Alternate History. The POD's in 1935.
AUGUST 6, 1935 - The Government of India, 1935 Act is passed. The Act, which was the longest Act of Parliament ever enacted by that time, granted a high autonomy to the provinces of British India, ending the system of dyarchy introduced by the Government of India Act 1919.
AUGUST 15, 1935 - The Federation of India, A Dominion-like colonial government made up of both British India and all princely states, is established on this day. While this ushered in a new era to the British Raj, it also started a Chain Reaction that ultimately led to its demise.
JANUARY 26-FEBRUARY 13, 1936 - A Secret Meeting of High-Level Indian warlords opposed to the British Raj, chaired by Dr. Mohammad Atharv Singh, is held in Bombay. In that meeting, the Provisional Government of the Republic of India (PGRI) was born, and Dr. Singh was elected as its President. In his Inauguration Speech, he reasoned that because the Federation of India was then "loose and breakable", there was "No other chance for us to slay the {British} Raj, and create a New India from its ruins."
JANUARY 26-29, 1937 - The Leaders of the PGRI Meet Again, Now in New Delhi. While this meeting was not as long and productive as the First, it was eventually decided that India will achieve independence on August 15, 1937, the 2nd anniversary of the Federation of India, and the declaration of independence was then drafted.
