Doesn't have to be a dystopia to have predominantly bad things. Otherwise all of rvbomally's stuff would be dystopias.
AFAIK OFC isn't supposed to be a total dystopia, just subtly worse in so many ways that it adds up
But the mere presence of a Dominion of New England, bigger Canada and a leftier USA makes up for some of that.
True, as well as the general lack of homophobia in must of the world. Although it's more than counterbalanced by the prevalence of colonialism and the normalization of fascism, which are both unequivocally bad things
I really appreciate that OFC isn’t an overt dystopia or utopia. Some parts of it are better then otl, other parts are a lot worse. It feels a lot more believable because of it.
Speaking of the dystopia/utopia balance ITTL, the Balkans, particularly the Yugoslav region seem to be having some serious problems politically and peace wise, but seem to be a smidge more developed. Serbia being what looks like a military dictatorship and squabbling over the border with Croatia looks really problematic, but on the other hand the human development index map shows Serbia roughly the same socioeconomically as IOTL (maybe a bit better, IDK why, but I get that vibe from the map) and Croatia and maybe Bulgaria doing significantly better.
Will there ever be a post focusing on the Balkans (or is there one that I might have missed, I haven't been properly following this TL, just kind of jumping around from post to post)? What the hell is going on down there?

Union of all Nationalities for Poland: Broadly centrist, with a large centre-right faction that has declined in recent years.
Socialist Party: Socially moderate (but not conservative), but left-wing economically. Seen as the spiritual successor to the "good parts" of Poland under Communism.
Polish People's Party: Social Conservatives first and foremost, with centrist economics. Big on deregulation and selling off state assets, but not to the Germans.
Ruthenian Domestic Party: Far-right party that skirts secession (illegal in Poland) and brands itself as a "home rule" party, seeking autonomy for Ruthenia and often described as ultranationalist and xenophobic.
Union of Minorities: Broad tent. Mostly only focuses on minority language and cultural rights.
Freedom and Fatherland: Openly fascist, far-right wing ultranationalist party. Advocates a Poland only for Poles, and often doesn't exactly say if they'll be handing away any territories.
Prussian Party: Like the Union of Minorities, except for Germans. They are proudly Prussian, and only run in Prussia's former territories. They do not seek for the territory to return to Germany, but instead seek to preserve their historical culture and right to live and work in Poland.
New Communist Party: Rebranded Marxist-Leninist Party that was also banned by Polish authorities in the Communist era for being Stalinist stooges.

From the beginning I, along with a very large butterfly net for people, set out to try and plan out how events would logically flow. For the most part, I think I achieved this to my own satisfaction, and the result is indeed neither a full dystopia or a full utopia.

Keep in mind that this Serbia did not have the same type of NATO-led missile rain that rained down on it during the breakup of Yugoslavia. While the OFC breakup was by no means a peaceful operation, Croatia and Albania seceding were hardly the end of the universe for them. The region is still fraught with conflict, as Serbia, well, hasn't quite gotten the memo about the whole collapse.
I must admit that the Balkan conflict is not a priority for Q1 2020, and might not be one until Q3 2020. I have a decently-sized anniversary update in the works, and the rest of this month and February I am still working on some loose ends I have here and there, and I will be putting more work into the canon-(in universe)-middle school textbook that I have been working on for around a year now on and off, which I hope to release this year. But! Have no fear, it is a personal goal of mine to leave no stone untouched for this timeline.
Is there more information regarding the “Territory of Port Arthur”? I would’ve love to see more work information for that one! I have few questions to ask:
• How does this ‘Territory of Port Arthur’ develop itself?
• How did it function itself? Were there political parties?
• Were there any movements within the territory? If so, what sort of movements were there within the territory?

I wasn't expecting an immediate response anyway, especially considering the timing, it isn't the world's most relevant region, so any post is more than I could ask for. Albania was part of Yugoslavia ITTL? Interersting.
Also, very interesting parties for Poland.
