believe me, he has said quackery like this at his rallies (i mean, he said that el paso was faked), but the cdp was a bit anxious at his nomination, so they made sure that at least some moderate party members keep him at least somewhat under control. but, they are slowly becoming more and more indoctrinated into jones's "everyone is out to get us" mindset, and jones is still surprisingly popular, so many people believe that if the cdp wins the house and jones can oust o'rourke and replace him with a puppet, tejas will descend into a post-truth society where only what jones says is believable.

but, pm o'rourke is trying all he can to stop this from happening.
Is there a difference in how popular Alex Jones (or Alejandro Jones) is among Anglo Texans and Hispanic Tejanos?

1. alex jones is still anglo so he won't be called alejandro
2. i would say he has more appeal with anglos, but conservative hispanics also like him, especially his "macho" personality.

Yang forms new party.

NEW YORK, NY: Businessman and popular podcast host Andrew Yang announced this morning that he will form a new political party ahead of the rumored snap election that is reportedly in the works. Yang, a lifelong member of the Liberal Party who served as an informal adviser on small business development to Prime Minister Layton, filed with the Federal Election Commission to register the American Action! party this morning in Philadelphia. According to Yang, the party's primarily focus will be on implementing the "freedom dividend," a universal basic income program that Yang claimed could be funded by implementing a value added tax. Among their other planks include a pocket of various governmental reforms, including ending the war on drugs, proportional representation, combating climate change, and adapting the American economy in the face of technological advancements like artificial intelligence.

A political novice, connections to Layton aside, Yang has never sought elected office despite an effort by New York Liberals to run him against independent MP Mike Bloomberg in the constituency of Lower Manhattan. Though he claimed "it's too early" to speculate if he would run against Bloomberg or another New York City based constituency, he did confirm that the American Action! party candidates will run in constituencies in multiple provinces and lauded several early supporters of the new party, including former Saskatchewan MP David Orchard (who will run as the first ever American Action! candidate in the upcoming Calgary North by-election) and former MP and cabinet minister Paul Hellyer.

Born in Schenectady, New York to immigrant parents from Formosa, Yang initially practiced law after graduating Columbia University, but left the legal profession after six months. Since then, Yang has served as CEO of Manhattan Prep and later Venture for America, which he launched to help develop fledgling small businesses in blighted areas. Married with two sons, one of whom is autistic, Yang claims that his party could rise in a similar nature to Trump's America First! party and has expressed interest in taking to the road to introduce his ideas and parties to a broader public.

WATCH: ALEX JONES' ADDRESS TO THE TEJAN PEOPLE REGARDING THE CORONAVIRUS
1584120881435.png
President of Tejas Alex Jones addressed his nation on Thursday night to outline his administration’s response to the coronavirus outbreak in Tejas.

The World Health Organization declared the virus a pandemic earlier Wednesday, and the number of confirmed cases in Tejas rises to 116 this week as more provinces implemented states of emergency in response to the outbreak.

A rush transcript of the president’s remarks is below. Details of his proposals can be found here, or you can watch the full address.

My fellow Texans, tonight I want to speak with you about our nation’s unprecedented response to the coronavirus outbreak that started in China and is now spreading throughout the world. Today the World Health Organization officially announced that this is a global pandemic. We have been in frequent contact with our allies and we are marshaling the full power of the federal government and the private sector to protect the Texan people.

This is the most aggressive and comprehensive effort to confront a foreign virus in modern history. I’m confident that by continuing to take these tough measures we will significantly reduce the threat to our citizens and we’ll ultimately and expeditiously defeat this virus.

From the beginning of time nations and people have faced unforeseen challenges including large scale and very dangerous health threats. This is the way it always was and always will be. It only matters how you respond, and we are responding with great speed and professionalism.

Our team is the best anywhere in the world. At the very start of the outbreak we instituted sweeping travel restrictions on China and America, and put in place the first federally mandated quarantine in over 50 years. We declared a public health emergency and issued the highest level of travel warning on other countries as the virus spread its horrible infection. And taking early, intense action, we’ve seen dramatically fewer cases of the virus in Texas than are now present in Europe.

Mitteleuropa and other European nations failed to take the same precautions and restrict travel from China, America and other hotspots. As a result a large number of new clusters in Texas were seeded by travelers from Europe. After consulting with our top government health professionals I have decided to take several strong but necessary actions to protect the health and well-being of all of Texas.

To keep new cases from entering our shores, we will be suspending all travel from Europe to Texas for the next 30 days. The new rules will go into effect Friday at midnight.

These restrictions will be adjusted subject to conditions on the ground. There will be exemptions for Texans who have undergone appropriate screenings and these prohibitions will not only apply to the vast amount of trade and cargo shipments, but various other things as we get approval. [Editor’s note: The Texan government has since clarified that the ban “only applies to human beings, not goods and cargo.”] What we are discussing is anything coming from Europe to Texas. I should also clarify that these restrictions will also not apply to the United Kingdom.

At the same time, we’re monitoring the situation in China and Korea and as their situation improves, we will re-evaluate the restrictions and warnings that are currently in place for a possible early opening.

Earlier this week I met with the leaders of the Texan health insurance industry who have agreed to waive all co-payments for coronavirus treatments, extend insurance coverage to these treatments, and to prevent surprise medical billing. We are cutting massive amounts of red tape to make antiviral therapy available in record time. These treatments will significantly reduce the impact and reach of the virus.

Additionally, last week I signed into law an $83 million funding bill to help the TCDC and other government agencies fight the virus and support vaccines, treatments, and distribution of medical supplies. Testing and testing capabilities are expanding rapidly, day by day, we’re moving very quickly.

The vast majority of Texans, the risk is very, very low. Young and healthy people can expect to recover fully and quickly if they should get the virus. The highest risk is for elderly population with underlying health conditions. The elderly population must take a large amount of caution. In particular, we’re strongly advising that nursing homes for the elderly suspend all medically unnecessary visits. In general, older Texans should avoid non essential travel in crowded areas.

My administration has coordinated directly with communities with largest outbreaks and we have issued guidance on school closures, social distancing, and reducing large gatherings. Smart action today will prevent the spread of the virus tomorrow. Every community faces different risks and it is critical for you to follow the guidelines of your local officials who are working closely with our federal health experts and they are the best.

For all Texans it is essential that everyone take extra precautions and practice good hygiene. Each of us has a role to play in defeating this virus. Wash your hands, clean often-used surfaces, cover your face and mouth if you sneeze or cough, and most of all, if you are sick or not feeling well, stay home.

To ensure that working Texans impacted by the virus can stay home without fear of financial hardship, I will soon be taking unprecedented emergency action to provide financial relief. This will be targeted for workers who are ill, quarantined, or caring for others due to coronavirus. I will be asking Congress to take legislative action to extend this relief.

Because of the economic policies that we have put into place over the last three years, we have the greatest economy anywhere in the world by far. Our banks and financial institutions are fully capitalized and incredibly strong. Our unemployment is at a historic low. This vast economic prosperity gives us flexibility reserves and resources to handle any threat that comes our way. This is not a financial crisis, this is just a temporary moment of time that we will overcome together as a nation and as a world.

However, to provide extra support for Texan workers, families, and businesses, tonight I am announcing the following additional actions. I am instructing the Small Business Administration to exercise available authority to provide capital and liquidity to firms affected by the coronavirus. Effective immediately the SBA will begin providing economic loans in affected states and territories. These low-interest loans will help small businesses overcome temporary economic disruptions caused by the virus.

To this end I’m asking Congress to increase funding for this program by an additional $50 million. Using emergency authority, I will be instructing the Treasury Department to defer tax payments without interest or penalties for certain individuals and businesses negatively impacted. This action will provide more than $200 million of additional liquidity to the economy.

Finally, I am calling on Congress to provide Texans with immediate payroll tax relief. Hopefully they will consider this very strongly. We are at a critical time in the fight against the virus. We made a life-saving move with early actions on China and America. Now we must take this same action with Europe, and we will not delay. I will never hesitate to take any necessary steps to protect the lives, health, and safety of the Texan people. I will always put the well-being of Texas first.

If we are vigilant, and we can reduce the chance of infection, which we will, we will significantly impede the transmission of the virus. The virus will not have a chance against us. No nation is more prepared or more resilient than the Republic of Texas. We have one of the best economies, of the most advanced health care systems, and some of the most talented doctors, scientists, and researchers in the world. We are all in this together. We must put politics aside, stop the partisanship, and unify together as one nation and one family so we can overcome this crisis.

As history has proven time and time again, Texans always rise to the challenge and overcome adversity. Our future remains brighter than anyone could imagine. Acting with compassion and love, we will heal the sick, care for those in need, help our fellow citizens, and emerge from this challenge stronger and more unified than ever before. God bless you, and God bless Texas. Thank you.
