Ottoman Restoration......in Libya?!

During the Allied occupation of Libya after ww2 Osman Fuad who remained extremely popular with the Libyan populace was approached by some Libyan notables (like al-Sennusi) to become the King of Libya. Osman Fuad rejected the offer iotl and the crown went to Idris. But what if Osman Fuad had accepted? What would be the reaction of Europe? (Mainly Italy, Turkey and the former Ottoman states?).

Osman Fuad is Chidless in OTL, if he died who would suceed him?? And would gaddafi still overthrow libya monarchy?? Also would Osman Fuad claim the caliph title or simply Sultan of libya??

If Osman Fuad was crowned king of Tripolitania and idris king of Cyrenaica? it would be an interesting scenario.

I think he could be better than Idris who is not interested in ruling. It will make osman more famous which can increase popularity of monarchy in Turkey as he was considered as heroic

Would they still try to keep the title of Caliph?
I'm out of my element here, but if a restored Ottoman ruler claimed the title of Caliph, he would probably be playing with fire. Following the end of the Ottoman Empire in 1922, most of the leading Islamic countries that had arisen from its ashes were pretty adamant on the Ottoman Dynasty surrendering the title of Caliph. If Osman Fuad claimed the title of Caliph following this hypothetical restoration, he could be in for a world of pain by angering a good chunk of other dynasties in the Middle East.

Actually when Ataturk offered the title to other Muslim dynasties - such as the alaouites in morocco, the senussi in libya, the rashids in Yemen, the hyderabadis etc, all of them were adamant that the Ottoman Dynasty was the rightful caliph and didn't accept the offers. As such if Osman Fuad did take the title, i wouldn't see much problems for anyone but the Saudis
