I'm listening to a course on the Ottoman Empire and it claims that Murad IV was a capable military commander, unlike most of his immediate predecessors. IOTL, he died at age 29. What happened if he lived until, say, 70?

He would be better than his younger brother Ibrahim I who made his 8 years reign a hell to the Ottomans. The 40 years he lives longer he can stabilise the state. That is at least what I expect.
Murad IV was a strong and feared man by thr pashas and Janissaries. Eventually he will have a son and thus have a heir. If not he can let Ibrahims son be his heir. Harsh but much better.
He died at age 27 actually. Too bad if you think like that. If the Ottomans reform and advance the military before the Europeans do it should have been Murad IV.
