Have the Ottomans say "Nuts" to annexing Hungary and keep it as a buffer state. Focus that effort on seizing and integrating the Adriatic coast instead; Croatia comes along with that as a sort of twofer deal.
Since this almost inevitably would entail the Ottomans paying more attention to their navy, certain other things in the 1500s might well go a bit differently. The big one, of course, would be the Ottomans driving those pesky Knights off of Malta; assuming that they have the troops for it, would Sicily be worth taking once the Christian seafaring powers in the Mediterranean are crushed?
And figure that if the Ottomans go for Dalmatia and Croatia, they may as well go for the whole enchilada and leapfrog along the coast towards Venice. I don't think the Ottomans could take and keep the Veneto; it's too far away from the Ottoman center of power and too close to lots of potential military threats. But a thorough sack of Venice and the installation of a more subservient Doge would probably be deeply satisfying for the Ottomans on a historical and emotional level.
