OTL Map Thread Mk IV., 2014-

Being a native of Alabama, I've noticed that one more than a few times, but haven't been arsed to ask about it. I just assumed it was an error.

Yeah that entire stretch of the gulf coast looks off to me, and become apparent when compared to a real map.

Left is current, right is my shoddy attempt at fixing and below is google maps. Notice how the hump in the florida panhandle isn't directly below Alabama, but appears so in worlda and is actually a bit exaggerated.

Could someone help explain or provide a few sources for Morocco shape and differences in the 1816 and 1838 maps? I don't understand why the spot in the middle is uncontrolled. I also can't seem to find anything about their expansion. Everywhere I look talks about history til the 1700's, mentions piracy in the early 1800's, then skips to the French taking over the place. There is always a gap where I am trying to research.

Didn't see this thread go up; posting to subscribe. Maybe this summer when I have more free time I'll get back to looking at 1st level subdivisions again.

Can anyone point me to the latest update? I'll Ioriize it (and gray its borders) for my signature shortly.

Hey Guys,

I'm somewhat new to this forum's map rules, so please point out errors here.

I've done my best to de-Iorite the July 2014 map and make it proper for January 1st, 2015.

What do you guys think?

This is the January 2015 map in UCS, the TACOS one is a few posts below it.

I'm working on an update to the 2014 map for June 2015. So far I've updated Donbass, Syria/Iraq, and Libya. Yemen has to be updated, and there likely have to be changes to CAR/DRC/South Sudan as well.

I made a TACOS version of your map with a couple corrections and autonomous area additions. I also made an attempt on Yemen.

Thanks for the help! I did some more fixes--a few incomplete province borders in Brazil, Russia, and China and a fix to the CAR (where the civil war just ended). Can't find any good maps of rebel influence in the DRC (so I left the spillover into the CAR), South Sudan, or Afghanistan/NW Pakistan.

Looking at this I think our North Dakota is a little too far was. The border looks about 1/3 the way from Ontario to Sask, not the ~1/2 the way our map has.

i have a problem these inner borders of countries like united states, russia, seem to change from cold war maps to modern day, it doesnt seem to be consistent, so was there a color scheme for inner borders !?

The overal nation is called the CPCP/SRSR (Union of Russian Socialist Republics?). We know it better as CCCP/USSR (Soyuz Sovetski Socialisticheskih Republika). The top-level division is called a RSR (Russian Socialist Republic?), not an SSR. One ARSR is listed.

It would seem that someone didn't get the memo to replace "Russian" with "Soviet" on these maps.

A bit late and nitpicky, but R does not mean "Russian" here but "Radyanska" which is ukrainan for "Soviet". The map was printed in Ukraine.

Aren't the Balochs in Pakistan getting pretty frisky recently? I read something about China not wanting to put oil pipelines through the region because they were afraid the Balochs would blow up the pipelines.

Here's an update to the present-day map, I fixed some borders and updated the conflicts in India, Yemen, Iraq & Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, and Lebanon.

Has the unrest in Venezuela grown to such an extent that the government has nominally lost control over any territory?
