Other thought on the human tail

I saw the first episode of "The Origins of Us". One point that was mentioned was the risk of falling forward when running.

I kind of think reaquiring a tail. lost I think when apes split off from monkeys, Could this have happened

How different would we be

The loss of tails dates back to the origin of apes.
Since the coccyx bones in apes are currently used as attachments for the gluteus maximus muscles any regrowth of a tail is likely to affect bipedal locomotion.

Well since we are related to Apes and not Monkeys, having a tail would be redundant. Since by the time Humans evolved form the Ape, they had long since lost their tail when they branched off form the Monkeys. But it as not we don't have one, its just no longer jutting out of are back.

And thinking about it really, having a tail would be like having an over sized rat tail. Hairless, bonny, scrawny, nasty...

I do know that apes do not have tails. I was assume monkeys and great apes including ushave a common anscestry

I was thinking more along the lines of the coxicks, sorry about spelling, maybe growing back into a tail

Apes & monkeys are pretty much the same........and tbh, I don't believe we evolved from apes per se.
