Orthodox Poland

Is it possible with a post-1000 POD to have a Poland where Orthodox Christianity is dominant? I've really got no idea how strongly entrenched Catholicism was in Poland by this point, but I figured that given how Poland occupied the unique position of being on the general border between Catholicism and Orthodoxy, that it would be an interesting idea.

The cultural influence in Poland at this time came from Germany, and thus Latin Christendom. The Poles were basically "learning" everything from the Germans - law, government, trade, and religion. Byzantium did not influence Poland at all.

The Kievan state was directly influenced from Constantinople because of the Black Sea trade. That's why it adopted Orthodoxy. While Kievan Rus influence did extend west towards Poland, it was not far enough to influence Piast Poland which was essentially west of the Vistula where German influence was dominant.

Without very significant changes - which probably require pre-1000 PODs - Poland will not be adopting Orthodoxy.

There was a moment in the history of Polish-Russian relations when was existing intense competition for tribal areas of Lendians (from middle Vistula and San to Red Ruthenia). This has been resolved by Prince Yaroslav the Wise of Kiev - the deportation of many Lendians into Russia (mainly into central regions of Dnieper) and increasing actions of the Orthodox Church in the lands of Red Ruthenia. To Lendians who still existed yet on their mother land during expansion of Mongols joined refugees from other parts of Russia, what led to Russification of the originally West Slavic people.

I do not think that divided into semi-independent districts Kievan Rus after Jaroslaw the Wise was able to do something similar in other parts of the Poland. Rather Poland had many opportunities to impose Catholicism to Russia.

But it was Poland that influenced Lithuania not the other way around. Besides, what orthodoxy had to offer to Poles to convert them peacufully instead of by force (which I don't think was ever possible).
