Orde Wingate does not die in 1944

So what if Orde Wingate did not die in a plane crash in 1944? If Wingate survived WWII:

1. Would the British government have allowed him to return to Palestine prior to Isreal becoming a nation in 1948? Or would he have perhaps ended up in Malaysia ?

2. Would the Isrealis have offered Wingate a military command like Mickey Marcus or would have been simply an advisor?

3. Could Wingate have helped prevent a Jewish insurgancy against the British and could he have helped raise support for Isreal.

If Wingate is not killed would he have received some help with dealing with his eccentric habits? Also how would the Chindits have ended the war?

"Ecentric"? You are a master of understatement. And I speak as someone who has described the antebellum South as "a bit nervous."

Was Orde Wingate ever officially diagnosed as having some kind of mental condition?

I could see him spending time in a hospital after the war for "exhaustion" Maybe Bill Slim sends him back home to England to recuperate.
