I've been reading the Operation Unicorn WI recently (posted
here), and I think it's an awesome timeline. I don't know where the author's going with it, but so far it looks like the CP have the upper hand in WW1.
So, a question occurred to me. What's the consequences for a newly independant Ireland (having achieved independance with CP help) of a CP defeat in the overall war?
If the Irish uprising does not throw the British completely out of the island, for example if fighting is still ongoing in Ulster, when an armistice occurs in Europe. In this case, I'd think the British leave Ireland out of the peace treaty and keep fighting there, possibly transferring in more troops from the continent.
If the Irish (and whatever CP personnel are in Ireland) have forced the British out of the Island, Ulster is occupied but definately not peaceful. There's no chance of Irish troops fighting with the CP as the Britain (the island) blocks the efforts of transferring troops, so essentially Ireland becomes a stand-off.
Would a peace be signed between the UK and Ireland while the rest of the war plays out (essentially giving the British one less thing to worry about)? Or would the British not make peace with the Irish, invading the island as soon as possible?
