What if Unternehmen Seelöwe had been launched. By that I mean what would the effects on the war be if Britain fell. Obviously the operation would succeed, the Germans had more than enough men and ships. The Bismarck and Tirpitz, plus all the Panzerschiffes and Cruisers, could easily take on the Royal Navy. As long as carriers weren't involved they would be fine.

Erm, I know that this is your first post, but just how familiar are you with this forum? And this topic? And, erm, pardon me if this sounds cynical, but have you been here before under a different name?

I'm willing to bet that whenever one of these stupid threads comes up, the very life and soul of the 'After 1900' section gets sucked into it as if it were some kind of black hole, as members stop replying to, viewing or creating new threads, and instead keep beating up this zombie horse.

If you name is indicative of your specific interests, you may not last here long. The divinely revealed truth on this board is that the success of any Sealion invasion is so outlandishly improbable that the heretics who suggest otherwise are immediately condemned to Hell and expelled from the ranks of the faithful. Read some of the threads referenced by nbcman to see how many times this has been discussed and the Holy Scriptures are unchanged.

I smell troll.

And per the naval component... B had barely entered commission and was still undergoing trials, push her into action and she'll end up a bug riddled mess and likely target practice. T was still fitting out, no hope of getting her into service in time. S and G were both undergoing extensive repairs after Norway. Of the Panzerschiffs only Scheer was available, Spee had already been sunk and Lutzow was under repairs after heavy damage off Norway.
