The history of small groups of people attempting to take over small countries has always been of some interest to me. The failed Seychelles coup attempt conducted by Mike Hoare and his band of mercenaries, William Walker's adventures in Latin America, the White Rajahs of Sarawak probably count too. But having read DanielXie's thread about a far-right North Korea-esque state, I've learned about a different set of "adventurers" I haven't previously encountered: the KKK and affiliated group's attempt to install a Dominican politician as PM of that country, and presumably use him as a puppet for their activities. From what I've read about the "operation" so far it appears that it failed to even get off the ground due to federal agents discovering what was going on, and apprehending the would be militants on their way to the shipyard.

So the question up for discussion is this: could this group have successfully reached Dominica, rendezvoused with Patrick John, the aforementioned Dominican politician, and his supporters, and seized the country? And if so, what would be the effects of this? How long would such a government last and what kind of strange butterflies could emerge?
