Operation Pastorius succeeds

For those who don;t know, Operation Pastorius was a Nazi attempt at landing spies by U-Boat in America to attack places crucial to the War Effort, such as rail lines, factories of important materiel, and transportation hubs. Unfortunately for them, but good for the USA, they where caught on the beech, reported, and feeling paranoid after the getting caught, two got cold feet and went to the FBI. But what if it went of with out a hitch, and they blew up at all, or at least one or two of their intended targets?

My guess is the best dividends would come form hitting the railroad targets, because the factories could be repaired and operational much quicker then a whole rail bridge. Hitting the Hells Gate, the Pennsylvania Repair shop, Horseshoe curve and the river locks. Blowing the Hydro plant as well could cause major damage, for a dam is hard to repair and the water would cause heavy damage to other things. Opinions?

If they succeed in blowing up a few targets, then it would increase paranoia in the States. Fair enough it sounds like they took a lot of explosives with them, but blowing up a dam? That sounds way beyond their abilities, especially as such key points were likely to be guarded anyway.

Well the teams that were sent out seem to have been pretty small, and not the best organized/trained. I could see them in the best case perhaps causing some minor raids or whatnot but getting down to brass tacks nothing they did would have a major impact on the overall war efforts. Thats what I think, anyway :)
