So, I just found this page:
http://members.iinet.net.au/~gduncan/assassination_attempts.html
Rather interesting read. Definitely shows that Hitler wasn't exactly popular even among his own people.
Now, I'm curious. Imagine if each of these attempts managed to play out successfully. What would the immediate aftermath be like? Who would take power over from Hitler, at that time? How would the rest of WWII played out if Hitle rhad been taken out of the picture on that day in that month? I don't know much about WWII OOBs myself, or much of the Nazi hierarchy, so I'm not really certain. I'm especially curious about what would have happened had Stauffenberg managed to take out Hitler, Himmler, and Goering simultaneously. I mean, with those three dead, you've got pretty much the most insane three members of the Nazi high-command gone, and the two people generally picked to be Hitler's successor gone as well.
Anyways, go ahead and pick one or more of those scenarios on the website, and tell me what you think would've happened.
