Nintendo Creates Platinum Games after Clover Studios Shut Down by Capcom
In early 2005, Capcom decided to shut down Clover Studios. Many of its former members and talent such as Hideki Kamiya were hired by Nintendo to create a new Nintendo Development Group, Platinum Games.
The goal of Platinum Games was to make new IPs based off of completely new characters as well as existing Nintendo IPs.
Their first new series was the "Fierce Deity"

Also of note in 2004, was that Rareware's games for the GameCube were finally released after the studios infamous delays pushed the games into 2004.

Nintendo's plans for its next generation console the Revolution was also in full swing. The new console would continue with the pattern from the GameCube and N64 Era of having some of the strongest hardware out of the competition.
They also began plans for an attachment called the Wii, what began as an experiment in Nintendo R&D would by launch be included in all of the units and even Nintendo did not know the potential of its selling power.
