I was thinking of doing a TL about the geopolitical situation of a world 20 years after a nuclear war happening in the late 80's.
One thing i was wondering was if a nuclear conflict would increase desertification at a rapid pace and lead to a dustbowl. My thinking on this was in areas that received a lot of fallout the radiation would kill all of the grass, which would lead to massive erosion and the dustbowl I mentioned before. Would this be plausible? If so how long would it take for those effects to revert?
