NT transcripts lost

I am making a TL right now where the all the NT transcripts are lost in the threefold invaision (Scandanaiva/Moors/Germanic tribes). Before I make any hypotheses, can you tell me all the butterflies? and the most plausible way of this happening.

In this time line Christianity is reduced to 5 or 6 monistaries and covents in Ireland and a bunch of rambling French farmers. in the monistaries, the monks are working with the sermons of the early church fathers to recreate the new testiment as accuraty as possible through quotes. (it is possible, less eleven verses), however scriptural integrity is compromised.

How do you plan to get rid of the transcripts in the east? As long as they're around, new translations can come into the west King James style.

This is extremely unlikely. The current New Testament consists largely of the most widespread texts in the early church, and by the 4th century (let along the 7th or 9th), these are already so widespread that even a determined effort to destroy them has limited prospects of success. You could lose some parts if you have them dropped from the Canon ATL, but that is about as far as you can go without major changes either much earlier or much deeper than the loss of texts you posit here. Even if you have Christianity fail in the western Empire and never recover, leaving the entire West where OTL's Rhineland and England was, but there are still vast numbers of copies circulating in the Greek East. Take out the east, and you still have texts in Ethiopia, Persia, India and Central Asia. Only if you have all Christian communities fail can you have the main body of the NT lost. By that time, I don't think much patristic literature would survive.

how about i modify it to be everything from the book of hebrews beyond disappears

What do you mean by this?

After about 350 AD you'd still need magic to make all the manuscripts of the NT in existance disappear. Before that you'd need a massive, coorinated (beyond nazi/communist/religious fanatic book purging & burning level) effort to destroy every manuscript. Besides, even if all NT manuscripts did somehow vanish the words and message would live on and thrive via oral tradition.

Look at what happened OTL where despite years of effort by the Catholic Church, Heretical Texts like the Gospel of Thomas [The Lesser] Survived.

Now you can go with something like the Mongol destruction of the Muslim Universities, Libraries of the Mid East and the ending of the Scholastic tradition, in Islam.

Perhaps a more complete Roman collapse , would lead to a splintering, and several other differing Christian churches competing in Europe.

Even so, some manuscripts survived. A.R.P. wishes to have every last N T manuscript turned to dust (though he does propose that some sermons and secondary sources survive).
