Not!VP Aaron Burr's Family and Descendants

hey, all. i came up with this idea a while ago (i believe it was inspired by a discussion on the subject somewhere on this board) but have only just now decided to look further into it.

okay, so we all know Aaron Burr: arguably a good guy, arguably an asshole, DEFINITELY the guy who killed Alexander Hamilton, yada yada yada. now, as part of a POD for Alexander Hamilton surviving, i happened upon an excellent POD for this whereby Aaron Burr's father and grandfather (Aaron Burr, Sr., and Jonathan Edwards) don't die when Burr, Jr., is very young (Burr, Sr., died of fever in 1757, and Edwards died of a smallpox inoculation one year later). Edwards was a preacher while Burr, Sr., was an Anglican divine and educator, so i figured, for the POD, that with his father and grandfather alive for longer, Burr, Jr., becomes a preacher as well (ultimately a deacon) instead of going into politics, though i figure that his history is otherwise mostly the same (for example, there's a story related in an autobiography that Burr, out of the goodness of his heart, saved the lives of a couple of children by feeding and clothing them when their ailing grandmother was unable to) and he still dies in 1836.

now, in addition to Burr not being a politician and Hamilton living, an idea for later in the TL occurred to me as well. one of the overarching themes of the TL as far as writing it is concerned is passing the torch to the next generation, and there are going to be numerous successive families throughout the story. the Burrs could be one of these, and just yesterday i looked into it and found a VERY promising POD. Burr, Jr., eventually married Theodosia Bartow Prevost, who had some children from her previous marriage to Jacques Marcus Prevost (a German merc who died in Jamaica during the ARW) and had some kids with Burr as well, though only Theodosia Burr lived to adulthood. she later married Joseph Alston, governor of South Carolina during the War of 1812, and disappeared at sea in 1813. she, in turn, had a son named Aaron Burr Alston, born in 1802 and (from what i could turn up) died in 1812 (though i'm not sure about that).

anyway, with a secondary POD of both Theodosia and Aaron Alston not dying, this gives me the groundwork for a Burr (or rather Burr-Alston) family which could last through to the present-day. it's all rather exciting :)

so, any additional thoughts on what i have so far, and where it could go from here? are there any interesting historical personages who could marry into the family, starting with Aaron Alston's wife? anything and everything would be helpful.

also, one idea that i have for later on is that a member of the Burr family is TTL's Billy Graham, based on the whole "Burrs as preachers" idea :p
