I once did a school paper on a TL of a American vrs. Anglo-German war in 1904 during the Venezuelan crisis...i kinda like the idea, but I'm wondering if it has been over done on this site. Anyone?

Not as much as WW1, Hitler, and WW2.

Go for it! I haven't seen anything like a Venezuelan crisis in the early 20th century. Plus, you have an armada of South American AH.commers to help you.

The problem would probably be, unless you had a markedly earlier POD, having such a conflict divorced from the rest of the world situation. After all Britain is starting to edge toward an agreement with France but still mistrusts Russia, who is about this time slogging it out with their Japanese allies. Germany may react strongly to say the US taking a very strict line on Monroe but it has several million French and Russian forces within marching distance of its homeland.

If you don't take a POD too far back you could have the Russo-Japanese war expand, bringing Britain and France into conflict. Germany jumps in to gain a quick advantage and for some reason the US comes in on the other side. That's about the most likely way it could happen but very difficult to see a major war, as opposed to some naval skirmishes possibly, between the three powers without conflict in Europe as well. Which would almost certain drawf events in N America in the short term at least.
