Not for a younger son

Alright so at some point in her life, Élisabeth Charlotte d'Orléans was proposed as a wife for Josef Klemens of Bavaria. Her retort was "I am not made for a younger son."

What if Louis XIV had pushed that alliance through, with the same response as he had to her elder half-sister, "goodbye, Madame, goodbye forever"?

Thoughts?

Well, Josef Klemens does not take holy orders, does not become Habsburg candidate for Electorate of Cologne... Different Nine-Years War?

Could France perhaps find/create a duchy for him to rule over, or is secularization of archbishoprics still too far in the future?
