Excellent. Now we need a POD that allows Norway to capitalize on its 13th-century power, and avoid the later decline. The vast sea dominion, forested lands, defensible terrain, and large food resources in fishing would make a good base for later growth in power.

Norway was greatly affected by the plague in the XIVth century ( about half of the population was killed ).
What if if the plague hadn't spread to Norway? Some areas , like Poland and Milan escaped.
I know it's hard for a quarantine to work in a country like Norway , which relied heavily on grain imports and on seafaring , but what if ?
